marlin 336w in 30-30. hardwood stocks, some finish wear I tried to photograph, especially on the drivers side of the receiver. little bit of rust in the rear sight. no pitting. it is missing the scope mount filler screws. It is a remington made marlin, but the 336's never had the same problems the 1894's had, and this one is pretty good: sights and barrel are properly aligned and indexed, wood to metal fit is as good as one could expect from a gun made after 1970, and the screws aren't boogered from the factory.
I did an light action job on it, and before you throw up your hands and say "bubba ruined the gun" I am very very good with a marlin. I lightened the finger lever spring, the ejector spring, took a coil or 2 off the hammer spring polished the wear points just a bit, and lowered the nose of the hammer so the gun is no longer overcocking itself. I didn't turn it into a cowboy action race gun, I just tuned it to the way they should be coming out of the factory.
If you're interested in it, go handle a new ruger made marlin, then come see mine. it's not going to win a beauty contest, but if you want a shooter, this might be for you. it's got less than 50 rounds through it. It was meant to be the hunting marlin, but I threaded my pretty marlin, and now this one just sits in the safe.
