Our model wears serial number 123276. The only serial number still visible is the one on the trigger guard. Colt records show that this one was manufactured in 1901. The barrel is 4.5 inches long. The left side of the barrel is marked "Colt D.A. 41".
The cylinder features long fluting, holds 6 shots and has an ejector rod. Please note that the ejector rod head (the handle) is missing. The ejector rod and spring remain in place.
The hard, checkered grips feature the Colt logo and are in Very Good condition.
These revolvers were designed to operate in both double action and single action modes. Double Action appears to function correctly. In single action, the hammer will not stay at the full cock position and drops to half cock. This is likely a minor repair but we do feel the need to call it out.
Most of the finish has been lost to age as would be expected. However, we find no rust on the revolver. Please review the photos and confirm that you see it the same as we do.
This is a nice example of a vintage, early double action revolver and would be an outstanding addition to your collection. Assuming that this revolver will be a showpiece and not a shooter, neither of the items that we mentioned above should detract from the very nice presentation that this revolver will provide.
Purchase includes the revolver as shown. No other items are included in the sale.
